I was steady for years, then I completely slipped
I just finished reading A Thread of Absence and it hit me in that quiet way you only notice at fajr in the kitchen, when the kids are still asleep and the coffee is too hot. I am Sarah, a revert and a mom of two, and for years I kept my routine, read, taught my children small duas. Then over the last year everything unravelled, missed prayers became weeks, then months. I know the things I taught them and I know what I should do. That makes the shame sharper. I keep waiting to feel like Allah wants me back, but instead I feel like I broke something I can’t fix. Has anyone else slipped after knowing better and still found their way back? How did you begin to believe again?
