Dua requestNew Muslims
Every Eid they think I have rejected them
I grew up in a big Jakarta house where Eid morning meant two kitchens going at once and the whole family squeezing into the living room for photos. I became Muslim three years ago, quietly, and I thought the silence would soften with time. Instead, each Eid my parents act like I have turned away from them. Last year my mother left the ketupat untouched on the table when I arrived, and my father's voice on the phone was small, like he was speaking to a stranger. It breaks me a little more every year. Please make dua that Allah ease this distance and open their hearts, and tell me if anyone else has carried this quiet ache.
