I pray on time, but Isha never happens

My name is Yasin, retired teacher from Bursa. All day I keep to the times, fajr in the kitchen while the kettle sings, dhuhr after the short nap on the balcony, asr before the neighborhood tea grows cold. But when I get to Isha I stall. I tell myself I will go after the news, after the phone call, after reading a page of the paper, and before I know it I have fallen asleep on the armchair with the lamp still on and the prayer mat folded. I feel ashamed, like I have let a good habit slip in a small, soft way. Has anyone else done this for years, and what did you actually do when you noticed it happening again and again?
