I prayed tahajjud, now I wake to change meds
I am Sarah, a revert and a mother of two. I found Islam after thirty years of searching, and for a long time my mornings began with tahajjud, a small kettle, and my phone playing a soft recitation. My mother moved in after her diagnosis and I became her full time carer. Nights are for alarms and oxygen checks, days for therapy appointments and homework. My prayers have become sharp, quick things I fit around dressings and phone calls. I feel guilty and oddly relieved at the same time. Has anyone else felt their ibadah quietly change when care took over, and how did you hold both roles?
