I turned down more money and now I doubt myself

I turned down a role that would have doubled my salary. The offer came in a message on a sticky, rain-soaked afternoon, and I remember the bus ride home with chai in a paper cup. I tapped decline and left the message on read because something about the team and the job just did not sit right. At fajr I was folding my students' homework, thanking Allah for small mercies, then the doubt started: rent, my ageing parents, the extra savings I could have had. Did I listen to my gut, or did I let fear cost me something I needed? How do you decide when your feeling is enough reason to say no?
