My iman was loud, now it is quietly fading
I used to wake for fajr before anyone in the house, heart moving with the words like light filling a dark room. Lately I wake, put the kettle on, do wudu, and my salah feels like another task on a long shift at the hospital. I still fold my father’s shirts and sit with him after his medicines, but the steady bright certainty I had for years is gone. It scares me to think it might be slipping away for good. Has this happened to you, and how did you live through it if it did?
