Teaching Faith Through Everyday Hands and Habits
I just finished reading When My Hands Became Home on Athar and it landed in my chest like a warm cup of tea. I am a revert, mother of two, and most days my faith shows up in small things: saying bismillah before scooping cereal at 6:30 a.m., folding a prayer mat in the kitchen after fajr, answering a school text with a quick dua. Yesterday on the bus my son asked why we pray when he sees clouds, and I fumbled for words. I keep thinking about how faith becomes the fabric of our home, not just a list of dos and donts. Has anyone else tried to let belief live in everyday gestures with their kids, and how did it feel?
