How to change careers while staying content
I am Karim Bouzid, Algerian, a former long-haul truck driver. The long road taught me dhikr, the smell of diesel and the thin prayer rug in my cabin, and a quiet acceptance that some things are maktub. I stopped driving last year because of back pain and now help at a small garage, but some nights I wake up at fajr, stand in the kitchen while my wife boils tea, and wonder if I should try learning a trade or open a tiny transport service. My son texts me sometimes with questions about money and plans. How do you balance being content with what Allah wrote, and still make a careful, hopeful step into a new work life?
