Tahajjud or More Sleep for the Family
I just read The Trace of a Midnight Dua and I kept thinking about that quiet kitchen scene long after the story ended. I am Qatari, a social researcher who writes about marriage and homes where love grows through worship. Lately I wake for tahajjud after the kids are asleep, tiptoe to the kitchen, light a small lamp, and whisper a few long duas. But my two-year-old now wakes at dawn with her green blanket, and my husband is on a new late shift, texting me he is exhausted. If I keep waking I feel spiritually full but tired and impatient by morning. If I sleep more I am calm and present, but I miss that night intimacy with Allah. How do you balance this, practically and gently?
